QUALIFYING
- Two Main Tournament Divisions
1) Scratch Division: Open to all bowlers
2) Handicap Division: Open to bowlers with an entering average of 215 or less.
*Any current PBA member must enter Scratch Division (final decision at tournament director's discretion)
- Once a bowler has entered a main tournament division, that bowler may not switch to the other tournament division for the duration of the 2025 tournament.
- Bowlers can enter only one main tournament division (Scratch OR Handicap, cannot enter both).
- Junior Status Bowlers are permitted to bowl. Any Junior status bowler entering the Handicap division will receive handicap based on 70% of 215
- Qualifying Format (each squad): Bowlers will bowl 3 games across 6 lanes with moving pairs after each game (Skipping arrangement: 6-8 lanes for squad, move one pair to the right. 10-12 lanes for squad, skip one pair to the right)
- Senior Division: This is a side optional tournament division. Any bowler that is 50 years or old at the time of registration of any qualifying squad may enter. This side division also applies the same rules for separating Scratch and Handicap division bowlers as the main tournament.
- Women's Division: This is a side optional tournament division. Any female bowler may enter this division. This is a handicap division only, however, any female bowler over the average of 215 may enter (bowlers in the Women's division with an average over 215 will receive zero handicap). The Women's division for qualifying is broken into two average categories:
1) Women's Division A: Average of 181 and above
2) Women's Division B: Average of 180 and below
ENTERING TOURNAMENT AVERAGE RULES
- Average use for the tournament will be based on the highest 2023-2024 league average found on bowl.com with at least 21 games. If none, any 2024-2025 league average with at least 21 games can be accepted. Verification required if using 2024-2025 league season average for tournament.
- Sport and Challenge league averages found on bowl.com will be calculated to standard league average to determine entering tournament average use.
- If a 2024-2025 league with at least 21 games is 20 pins or more higher than an entering tournament average from the 2023-2024 league season, add 50% of the difference between 2023-2024 highest league average of 21 games or more AND 2024-2025 league average of 21 games or more to entering tournament average for average use for the squad. If average goes over 215 for the bowler and that bowler has already entered the Handicap Division, bowler's average for the tournament will be capped at 215, however, average use for any side action for any squad will be calculated average.
